The local library enables my book-buying addiction by selling discards for 25¢ a pop (10¢ for paperbacks!). Sometimes, they’re even books I’ve heard of before! So, in honour of this, I’ve decided to write 25 word reviews of these books. You may never find these books (or hear about them ever again) but you can sound super hip at parties talking about books that no one else knows!
25¢ Review #1: Matricide at St. Martha’s by Ruth Dudley Edwards
Ostensibly a run-of-the-mill British whodunit. Actually an uproarious social commentary with an irreverent and refreshing take on sexuality and gender. Also, there’s a talking parrot.
